Resume MCP server: score and tailor your CV from your AI agent

MaxCV runs a public Model Context Protocol server at https://maxcv.ai/mcp. Connect it to Claude, Codex, Cursor or another MCP client, paste your CV and a job posting, and the agent can score the match and tailor the CV — no account, no API key for the trial.

By the MaxCV team

Tools

  • score_cv — match score of a CV against a job posting: the original score, the score after tailoring, and requirement counts. Fast; use it first to show the gap.
  • tailor_cv — rewrites the CV with the posting's ATS keywords and returns the tailored CV, a match score, role-fit notes and interview prep. It never adds skills that are not already in the CV.

Both tools take two plain-text inputs: cvText (the full CV) and jobDescription (the posting). Transport: Streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC 2.0. The server is also listed in the official MCP Registry as ai.maxcv/resume (server.json).

Connect your client

  1. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http maxcv-ai https://maxcv.ai/mcp
  2. Codex: codex mcp add maxcv-ai --url https://maxcv.ai/mcp
  3. Cursor (mcp.json): { "mcpServers": { "maxcv-ai": { "url": "https://maxcv.ai/mcp" } } }
  4. Claude Desktop and other clients: add a custom remote MCP server / connector with the URL https://maxcv.ai/mcp. No sign-in step.

Then ask the agent something like “score my CV against this job posting” or “tailor my resume to this job”, and paste both texts.

Trial limits and privacy

The no-login trial is rate-limited per network (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /48): currently 10 score_cv calls per hour and 2 tailor_cv calls per day. Shared hourly and daily ceilings and an account-wide LLM usage cap also apply. When a limit is reached, the tool returns an error explaining the limit instead of a result. For more tailorings and PDF export, use maxcv.ai directly: pay-per-use, no subscription.

CVs sent through the trial are processed only to produce the result and are not stored. Never used for training, never sold.

MaxCV MCP vs other resume MCP servers

Rezi, InterviewCracker, ResumeUp and Rezzy also offer hosted resume MCP servers. They connect your agent to resumes or a profile stored in an account with that service, while MaxCV accepts CV text and a job posting with no account.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use the MaxCV MCP server?
No. https://maxcv.ai/mcp has a no-login trial: any MCP client can call score_cv and tailor_cv. The trial is rate-limited per network (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /48), currently 10 scores per hour and 2 tailorings per day. For more tailorings and PDF export, use maxcv.ai directly (pay-per-use, see pricing).
Which AI clients work with it?
Any MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers, for example Claude Code, Claude Desktop (custom connector), Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI. There is nothing to install locally.
Is my CV stored when an agent calls the MCP tools?
Guest CVs sent through the trial are processed only to produce the result and are not persisted. They are never used for training and never sold.
Will the agent invent skills to raise my score?
No. tailor_cv follows MaxCV's honesty contract: it never adds skills, tools or experience that are not already in your CV. Missing requirements are reported as gaps instead.
How is this different from Rezi, InterviewCracker, ResumeUp or Rezzy MCP?
Those servers connect an agent to resumes or a profile stored in your account with that service. Rezi MCP requires signing in with a Rezi Pro subscription; InterviewCracker and ResumeUp require signing in to an account with them; Rezzy requires an API key from a Rezzy account. MaxCV's MCP needs no account: you pass the CV text and the job posting, and get a match score or a tailored CV back.
